What will help my aging Golden Labradors arthritis?
She is already on prescription meds from the vet, and doing ok most days. Will massaging the afflicted shoulder help? If so what's the best way to massage a dogs shoulder? I use heating pads and she has a heated orthopedic bed, but was wondering if there was anything else that might help my girl?
She is such a wonderful dog and I want to make her senior years as comfortable as possible. So any suggestions or websites with good tips to relieve discomfort would be wonderful.

I was wondering, I have a mare that is about 15 years old and had arthritis in her back legs, the vet suggests no more than 150 pounds on her for riding at a time. Do you think she is safe to carry a baby for a full 11 month term and then deliver? I don't want her to get hurt in any way.

My vet told me during my last visit that our 13 year old chihuahua Rixie has arthritis. That was a few months ago and now every morning she's in a lot of pain for sometimes up to a few hours? This morning she could barely take a single step without yelping in pain. Is there anything I can do for her like give her half of a baby aspirin or something similar? I hate to see her in pain.

My little "girl" Sugarpie, seems to limp on her (L) hind leg after sleeping and then getting up to walk. Is it possible she has arthritis already? Only a minute after walking, she appears to be fine and not in pain. Could she have bruised that leg or hip? Is there any treatment I should try or should I call the vet? My resources are limited and any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!

We're told her knee pops out of place and could lead to arthritis. We have already went through two leg surgeries with our other dog and it's traumatizing for me and the dog. (I'm a mommy who gets nervous when her pets are in pain). Vet said "keep an eye" on the leg. How can we keep her leg healthy for as long as possible? Stop her from jumping too much? No running?

What pain medication would you give a dog with pain from arthritis? Can you buy some from petsmart or online or do you have to get it from the vet?

I think my Min Pin is "showing" signs of arthritis. When I take her to her vet, what type of test(s) will he do, to determine if it is arthritis?
Thank you.
How much would some Arthritis medicine for my Shetland Sheep dog cost?
Our dog is almost 8 years old and we think he has Arthritis. We are going to a vet soon, but we wanted to know how much it is going to cost. Also, would he have to take it the rest of his life?
Any other information would be helpful!
Thank you!
Tags: 8 years, arthritis, vetJust found out my cat has arthritis. How long does he have to live?
I took my cat to the Vet today. I thought he was poisoned but his blood test results were normal. The Vet said my cat has arthritis in the hips. My cat can't even stand on his hind legs. It seems like out of the BLUE our cat can't function. I've never had that happen to me with any of my cats. He has been sleeping and laying around all day and all yesterday. The vet gave him a steriod shot that might help his muscles and help him get back on his feet. I just don't want our cat to suffer. Right now he seems okay relaxing, chilling out but he can't even walk by himself. His hind legs seem useless. Is this the end? Do you think we need to put our 8 yr old cat to sleep? Does anyone know? I need some advice. It's really sad right now to think of loosing our beloved cat!
Okay this is what I don't understand: if our vet says our cat has arthritis, why can't he use his back hind legs? Seriously, I mean really. I am so confused right now. I guess I'm in denial right now. If our cat can't function, how is he going to go the bathroom? I can feed him and give him liquids but at some point you would think he needs to release himself(bathroom break) . Do we need to buy diapers? If it gets to that point is it time to put our cat to sleep. I think it's wrong to make a cat suffer. Right this moment he's not suffering but I don't even want him to feel any pain. I'm so torn. My children and I have been crying on and off all day. I'm just trying to get some answers so I can make the right decision. I need to make the best decision for our cat! He's our MAN. He's truly the best cat. As I look into his eyes it's like he's telling me "Time is running out". Is it time to let him go into the light? It's just so hard and so sad! Thanks for all your advice. It's helpful.
