I am 28 yrs old and was just recently diagnosed with fecal incontinence and sever IBS. I am a full time mom and a full time college student, so i cant just stay home, my life is busy, but it never fails. I have "accidents" that are not plesent. It is so embarrassing to walk into your class and have to turn around and leave because you have it running down your leg. I have failed all last semester classes due to this problem. I see a gastrologist that has put me on meds. i take bentyl- 8 times a day. Imodium every 4-6 hours, Metamucil(YUCK) and now tofrinil at bed time. they make me tired and i don't want to get off the couch, I have explained this to the dr. but he says there is no magic cure. I have changed my diet, to find "triggers" any food is a "trigger". after i eat, i use the restroom continuously. or if i drink a sip of water i still have diarrhea. there isn't anything that doesn't trigger an attack. Family understands to some extent, but they think the pain is in my head, and that i can get up and go like before. Hubby thinks i should get a job, to help with my stress...hello I go to the bathroom on myself!!! Are you not listening to me? I don't know how to handle this any more. Any ideas?

I crack my neck, back, elbows, knees, ankles and toes as well, i find it kind of stress relieving.
Anyway, i was told it gives you arthritis. But does it?

I went to the doctors and they found no urine infection, or infections in my vagina but they didn't tell me what next? Do i go back there and say the problem is still on going and ask for more help? I was racing on my bike and as I was getting closer to the finish I really decided to step up and pedal faster. I dont know what happened but I was really pedaling hard and I must have been pushing down on my seat when all of a sudden I felt I peed a little. It has been several months and i think I have a combination of stress or overflow incontinence because after I urinate I tend to have like a couple drops of urine dribble out. I am not old so i must have damaged something. I have been putting some toilet paper in my boxer briefs to catch the excess urine but I want to know if I should consult a doctor or just wait. The incontinence is not as bad as it was in the weeks after the biking but it is still a hassle. Any doctors out there have an idea?

I am 22 and have incontinence at night due to kidney problems. (overactive.) Also my Dr. had diagnosed me with stress (even though I never feel stressed). The reason for this is because recently I have obtained my "problem" during the day. Not often: maybe an average of once or twice a month.
My question is: can skelaxin (a muscle relaxent) cause my "problem" during the day to be worse?
Thanks.

This is going to sound like a strange story, but I hope you can appreciate my situation and offer me some help. Since I was young (too young to remember) I have had stress and overflow incontinence. My parents never believed me (I used to play sick when I was younger, I guess they just assumed I was making it up), and I never saw a doctor about it. Now that I am relatively independent, I an going to see a doctor about it later this week, but was hoping you guys could give me some help figuring this out.
I havent used a urinal in 10 years, becuase when I urinate, More tends to come out whenever I exert the slightest physical effort after going. Also, exercising can cause some to come out. Ive tried kegel exercises, but they dont really help much.
The internet doesn't seem to have an idea as to what the problem could be. does anyone out here?
but what is causing it?
Are there any other conditions that could be mistaken for rheumatoid arthritis?
My mom was hospitalized in January with pneumonia, upon her stay at the hospital she contracted a staph infection. Within a few weeks of leaving the hospital she began having pain all through her body. About a month later when she finally got into the doctor, they ran some tests and discovered that she has rheumatoid arthritis. It just seems strange that she never had symptoms prior to being at the hospital, and now she's hurting all over every day. I'm afraid that it could've been a misdiagnosis, as she is cared for by the VA and they missed my stepdads non hodgekins lymphoma (which thank god was caught at another hospital, thanks to his persistance ) I'm just curious if there are any other conditions that could have been overlooked, or If there are any treatments herbal remedies or anything she can try. I feel so bad for her cause shes active and can't do things that she wants to do. She also is experiencing anxiety attacks from the stress. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

Last year I began jogging everyday and after about two months of it my rheumatoid arthritis kicked in and my knee swelled up to the point of not being able to bend it. Currently I do lower impact cardio activities but I really enjoyed running and I want to start again. Does anyone know of a good knee brace that will potentially help with the high impact of running so that it does not cause too much stress on my knee?

I was recently diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection. When i first started having symptoms of those things, i also started having a really hard time controlling my bladder, everytime i cough i pee all over myself. Could this be a sign of a UTI or bladder infection, and if so, could they have detected that during my pelvic exam? What can i do to get rid of it... I'm only 19 years old, i thought stress incontinence only happened to old people.
Also, i've completed treatment for the yeast infection and the BV, but am still having the incontinence.

My mother is having problem in bladder control. She is not very old. Yet this situation is causing her a lot of stress and inconvenience.I am not for stuffing her with any strong medicines. Yet I wish there was natural treatment to solve her problem. It is really sad to see her suffer.
