I am 28 yrs old and was just recently diagnosed with fecal incontinence and sever IBS. I am a full time mom and a full time college student, so i cant just stay home, my life is busy, but it never fails. I have "accidents" that are not plesent. It is so embarrassing to walk into your class and have to turn around and leave because you have it running down your leg. I have failed all last semester classes due to this problem. I see a gastrologist that has put me on meds. i take bentyl- 8 times a day. Imodium every 4-6 hours, Metamucil(YUCK) and now tofrinil at bed time. they make me tired and i don't want to get off the couch, I have explained this to the dr. but he says there is no magic cure. I have changed my diet, to find "triggers" any food is a "trigger". after i eat, i use the restroom continuously. or if i drink a sip of water i still have diarrhea. there isn't anything that doesn't trigger an attack. Family understands to some extent, but they think the pain is in my head, and that i can get up and go like before. Hubby thinks i should get a job, to help with my stress...hello I go to the bathroom on myself!!! Are you not listening to me? I don't know how to handle this any more. Any ideas?

I've been dating a woman for about three months and we've been intimate. Several times I've asked her to sleep over my place or asked if I could sleep over hers. I had thought that she would want that too but was surprised when she kept giving me excuses and saying that she didn't want to stay over. Last week she said I could sleep over her place but she told me she'd feel more comfortable if I slept on the couch. I was kind of put off by this and asked her why and she told me that she suffers from incontinence during sleeping and I guess wets the bed frequently. As a result, she said she has to wear an adult diaper to bed. She was kind of embarrassed telling me this, so I didn't press the issue. My question is how I can tactfully tell her that it's not a big deal for me. Any advice on this matter?

I adopted a 13 year old dog from the pound (they were about to put her to sleep) and she has mild arthritis. I give her soft pillows to lie on and let her be on the couch but she still seems to move stiffly and lies around a lot. Is there any special food I can give her or anything? I have never had an old dog before.

I have a 9 year old Rottweiler (named Belle) who is having some trouble with arthritis. She is becoming more stiff as the nights get colder, I'm doing what I can for her. I let her sleep on my bed, and on the couch when she's in the living room. I am also giving her Bayer Asprin (I asked my vet about the appropriate dose), but she is still limping a bit through out the day. Is there anything else I can do the ease her arhritis pain without having to put her on a perscription medication?

What is the difference between hip dysplasia, arthritis, and just old age in dogs. I have a 10 year old rotwieller. Believe it or not. Sometimes when he gets up from laying he seems stiff. After he walks around it goes away. He can still jump off the couch and go after the ball or rope easily though. He only does that about twice a week though because his puppy energy is long gone.lol
Anyway what's the difference between just old age and something else?
