About a year ago I went to get in the shower and noticed three (one of them is broken in the middle) long, deep into the skin, horizontal scars in the middle my back. They were bright pink then, but are now purple. Then my mother and doctor said it looked like someone had burned me or wiped me. My doctor was unsure, but unconcerned.

I have been trying to do some research on this on my own today. So before you all say what you think might have caused it, let me explain why that can’t be.

I have NOT had any sudden growth spurts so they are NOT stretch marks, although they have a similar appearance of them. I weigh about 100 pounds steadily, give or take a pound or two, for the past three years, and I have never weighed one pound over 105 so it is not brought on by sudden weight gain or lose. I am not anorexic. I eat every meal. I am 5’8 now, one inch taller then last year and only two inches taller then the year before. (5’8 = 17, 5’7 = 16, 5’6 = 15, 5’4 = 14) No sudden growth spurt...

I have great posture. I walk with my shoulders back and head up high, and when I sit on a chair with no back, my back is straight.

Also, about a year before the scars appeared I had a strange back pain that came on with nothing happening that could have brought it on(such as vigorous activity or weight lifting). The pain was so sever that I could stand no pressure(not even a sheet) on my back. My back was not red, although it looked a little swollen. Anything touching my back would send my crying and trying to get away. The ER just gave me heavy duty pain meds and the only way the pain went away was after my mom got some church group to pray over it… Even though the scars appeared nine month later, could sever back pain somehow cause it?

P.S. I've never had a ghost experience or woke up sweating. I rarely dream and don't have a history of sleep walking, and if I did, the slightest sounds wakes my mother up so she would know. Also Spiritual answers are optional if you haven't a logical one. Also, from my research I looked up morphea scleroderma. Looks nothing like it and is nothing like it so please don't mention that here.

I have Scleroderma, factor V lieden, severe raynauds, & a bunch of other things going on. I have an ulcer on my left leg that will not heal. it started out as a small spider bite & now literally half of my leg from my knee down is eaten away. (wnt 2 c pics?) Part of my tibia (sp?) is exposed & about 8" long x 6" wide is raw meat. I have several speciality docs but in need of new pain doctor since my move to the cleveland clinic.
I need an understanding pain doctor close to home (waterford)
I feel like people walk into doctor offices every day and get all kinds of pain pills for phantom back pain, etc. I walk into a doc office seeking pain relief and am looked at like I am crazy!!
I am in pain most of the time as you can imagine how much it hurts to have the majority of your leg pure raw meat. I need an understanding, sympathetic doctor who is not afraid to prescribe meds-oxycotin
No, I'm not an abuser, yes they control the pain, can anyone refer a doc? lvmyshay@yahoo Thank U!

Most of the people today suffer from back pain because of the week muscles of the back, abdomen and buttocks. It is therefore important to do regularly some back strengthening exercises which will provide some additional support and strength to the spine of back. There are many back strengthening exercises, but important is not to overdo them initially, as it may initiate some immediate back pain.
Here IGÇÖm going to explain five most popular back strengthening exercises. These are simple to follow and do not need any medical supervision.
The Bridge
Lay flat on your back
Bent your knees to the right angle
Position the feet flat on the ground
Raise the buttocks off the ground
Abdominal muscles have to be kept tight.
Repeat it five times

The Plank
Lay straight on your stomach
Place the forearms and elbows on the floor
Achieve a push up position by balancing on elbows and toes.
Keep your back and leg straight
Hold the position for 10 seconds
Relax and repeat it four times

Wall Squat
Stand up with your back against the wall
Keep your heel about 1 -+ feet away from the wall
Gradually slide yourself against the wall until the knees makes a right angle
Hold the position for five seconds
Repeat on the other side
Leg lifts
Lay yourself straight on you back
Place your feet flat on the ground
Right Knee should be bent at right angle
Keep the left leg straight
Rise the left leg until it reaches the height of right knee.
Hold this position for 10 seconds
Leg and Arm Raises
Lay down with your back resting on floor
Keep you arms beyond the head
Lift the right arm
Slightly lift your shoulder and head
Simultaneously lift your left leg
Hold the position for about thirty seconds
Repeat the process by alternating legs and arms
Legs and arms should be stretched after this

This should be kept in mind that any exercise should be done in moderation. Any suggested increase should be done gradually. Back exercises are not for any competition; these simply mean to strengthen your back and lower your back pain. Overdoing may cause some serious back problems. It is better to consult a physician before starting the exercise program. There may be some undiagnosed medical problems like hernias. This sort of problems can further worsen by stretching of the muscles and increase the back pain instead of reducing.

Back Stretches - When Is The Best Time to Stretch?

To relieve back pain the most commonly used tools by the pain sufferers are back stretches.

People use different king of back stretches during traveling to different parts of the world, and most of the back stretches donGÇÖt help in relieving the back pain. The perfect back stretches, however play a very important and integral role in removing the back pain.

The main thing which comes in ones mind is GǣWhen back stretches should be used so that they can have the best effect and relieve the back painGǥ. The answer to this question is very simpleGǪBefore doing back stretches the main goal should be kept in mind that why one is doing these?

Stretching is basically used so that the muscles can relax and become flexible, and these relaxed and flexible muscles help removing back pain by reducing the tension which is the basics cause of building pain in the back. Back pain actually is a mixture of tensed muscles, joint disorder and in some cases severe inflammation.

Best Time to Do Back Stretch to Have the Maximum Results
Back stretches are extremely important in relieving the tensed muscles, as the muscles will ease, the working of the joints will be better.

To relieve the back pain stretching is important but most important is the time when the back stretches are being done. While doing back stretches, when the muscle is stretched the preferred reaction of this action is to relax the muscle. If one stretches the muscle and continue to use it either in the home or in the sports activity or exercise, the benefits of doing stretching becomes less.

The moment the muscle is contracted, the flexibility and the relaxation in the muscle disappears. This is what one needs to understand. In the process of back stretch, the muscle is first stretched and then relaxed and this can be done as long as one can. In this way of doing stretching one gets the maximum benefits and tension in the muscles is reduced for ever.

Again the question comes in mind what is the best time in the day for doing back stretches? Back Stretching should be done three times a day:

Early in the morning when one wakes up. This early morning back stretching helps in preparing to muscles for the whole day, this will not help to improve the flexibility of the muscles but this will help the muscles tone up so that they will work efficiently all the day without being tired.
Secondly back stretches should be done after the work i.e. after one gets home from the office. Back stretching done at this time will not only improve the flexibility of the muscles but will also help the muscles to warm down from all dayGÇÖs activity.

Lastly, back stretching should be done before going to bed. One should do back stretches and then sleep immediately. Stretching the muscles before going to sleep will help them remain relaxed all the night, muscles will remain easy which will ultimately result in the flexibility of muscles. As long as muscles will remain flexible, tension free, one will be relieved from the back pain.

Summing up, back stretches can help one in achieving the objective of relieving back pain.

Most of the people ignore back pain and consider it a temporary phase. They try to waive this temporary phase by using certain ointments for temporary relief. We understand well that what happens if the severe pains are ignored for the longtime.

I understand the question wandering. What is the cause of this back pain? It sounds paradoxical but the advancement in technologies is one of the major causes of back pain. Cable television and internet provide us a plethora of entertainment within our home. We donGÇÖt have to walk out of the home for most of the things. Laptops, remote control TVGÇÖs and AcGÇÖs add more fire to it. We have every thing in our access while we are seated on a comfortable sofa. This causes us to become a couch potato. We donGÇÖt go out for exercise or for any other entertainment.

Back pain is widely spreading across the breadth and length of the developed countries. Is their any way out to treat this except for the medicines or surgery? Of course there is. Luckily there are number of natural remedies that have been designed to cure the back pain in the natural and gradual way. Most of the people in this advanced world prefer the natural remedies as they donGÇÖt carry the side effects like the prescribed drugs does.

Some of these natural remedies are mentioned below.

Yoga
Yoga is the first thing that comes in mind to cure back pain naturally. Yoga suggests many different postures for curing back pain. But if somebody is new to yoga it is better to have the consultation of a yoga teacher. Who will not only tell him about the different yoga exercises but may also suggest some herbs or diet for that.

Acupressure
An old oriental practice of applying pressure on some specific points is termed Acupressure. The application of pressure releases some energy from those points and cures the problem. To cure back pain it is recommended that one has to apply pressure on the point behind the patientGÇÖs knees.

Music Therapy
Most of the people are not aware of this therapy. But it has been proved that it eliminates the back pain by lessening the depression and anxiety of the patient.

Breathing exercises
The cheapest and the easiest remedy for back pain are the breathing exercises. It is related to yoga and brings together meditation and movement.
Like all other disease the best is to prevent the disease before it takes place. This can be done by bringing up certain healthy lifestyle changes. This can save us by spending money, energy and time for curing it later.
