Is lower back pain impossible to cure?
I have developed terrible back pain. Everyday I go to bed, I have to apply pain relief gels, before I can sleep.
I have tried Yoga & stretching exercises. I don't think they are working. Is this impossible to cure?

Back pain is much better understood nowdays– with modern MRI’s they can see right into your spinal canal and see what is pressing on what and what to do about it. — go see a doctor.
For example my father and my neighbor both had excruciating, like screaming out loud back pain even with morphine, but they got completely healed with modern mefdical treatment.
There are pills, injections, steroids, and even minor surgery that can fix a lot of back problems.
See a back doctor!

If you are lucky, it’s just an acute condition that will resolve. Or, if there’s a defect like herniated disc, listhesis etc, accept the fact you will have pain until the day you die. There are ok days, and bad days. I wish you well.

Almost all back pain is caused by pinched muscles and that is where your pain is coming from, muscles pinched in yoiur lower back and, yes, there is a way to release them so the pain will go. Here is how to release them:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left leg and try to keep it straight. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg. If you can lean over the outside edge of your leg it will be better for your release. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.

The best I can do is treatment (tho the three ibuprofin that the doctor recommended don’t really work) and minding my posture so that it isn’t stressed. Meanwhile, the walks I used to enjoy are no more, along with other things I used to do but no longer can (such as practicing my bass guitar.) In my case (and likely in yours, too), it was genetic: my dad had a weak back and my mom had arthritis. Fast forward to their son, and you have a winning combination!

Exercise could be one of the best solutions for your lower back pain.
But you must do the right kind of exercise, i.e.:
1. Core exercise which concentrates on your back, spine (torso) and abs which make up the main core muscles that provide strong support to your vertebra.
2. Upper and lower back exercise to strengthen the whole length of your back
3. Lower back stretches that promote flexibility and agility in your lower back plus relieve tension and "blockages" there
I’ve written a guide on how to do these exercises here which you might want to refer to:

However, if your lower back pain has been persisting for quite a long time now, it’s best you seek out your doc’s advice too to rule out any medical-related causes.

Have you gone to a chiropractor yet?

Hi I have had lower back pain for 5 years now and i am starting to think this as well, as yes physio and massages has helped it has not cured/fixed it and no doctor can tell me what the problem is.
My one of my physios has told me that my pelvis is out of alignment, she has helped me alot but as she is 6 hours away i do not get to see her often enough to be able to benefit from her help for long, but she is wonderful whilst i am there.
i have tried well i think pretty much everything from numerous gp’s, orthopaedic specialists, a rheumatologist, a neurologist, physiotherapists, a massage therapist, an acupuncturist, a gynecologist, a chiropractor and a pain specialist, i have also tried numerous medications, stretches and exercises and had endless tests down all with little to no help what so ever.
I am still hoping that one day someone will be able to help solve my back problem, I am only 24 years old and have a lot of years ahead and need and want the pain to go away or settle down a fair amount.
Hope this helps

Assuming your pain is due to a compressed disk in the lower back (lumbar) area, I recommend the Teeter inversion table. It’s a little pricey but if your condition is due to a compressed disk instead of muscle pain, I think that this is the best bang for the buck. I had a sciatic nerve condition brought on by a compressed disk and it helped me.
